I'm a big fan of listening to music in cars and have always fitted i-pods to my cars. However, when purchasing a Mercedes this set me a new challenge.
Originally I was looking at paying £200-£300 just to connect to my car!! So I decided to take a different approach.
After finding the Aux input in the glove box in the form of a 3.5mm jack socket I ordered a lead for around £5. This allowed me to play music through my stereo, but meant that if the worse should happen and the music suddenly jumped to Girls Aloud, Madonna or something equally as torturous I would be unable to change the track without reaching across the car.
This video showed me how to remove the ash tray:

Using this video, and a lot of fiddling about pushing the cable through the glove box compartment and behind panels, I managed to run the cable from my glove box to the ash tray.
Woohoo, I can now safely change tracks whilst driving. :bannana: As you can see in the photo, the lead also came with a USB connector for charging, so I bought a cigarette light-to-USB connector and added that.
So as you can see, it doesn't have to cost a fortune to connect to a Merc.
