Hi all, decided to get up early this morning and tackle fitting my rear parking sensors,
Its a fairly easy job to do, but takes a little time. A brief description of how i went about it.
1, Remove side trim from inside of the boot.
2, Remove rear bumper, 6 13mm bolts, 2 located under each rear light and 2 in the rear panel. 4 10mm bolts located on each side.
3, Take off bumper cover, 3 screws on each side inside the bumper, and all the plastic clips you need to release with a flat screwdriver.
4, Mark out where the holes are going to be and drill holes with the tool provided.
There is a foam pad between the bumper and bumper cover which i drilled through as well, the sensors i used were the same depth as the pad and cover.
If the sensors you fit are deeper you will have to drill through the bumper as well, make sure you avoid the mounting irons.
5, Run the wires into the boot, there are 4 grommets on the rear panel which i used to feed the wires into the boot. you can come out on the left or right side depending where you mount the control unit.
6, Fit control unit, i mounted mine on the right side of the boot. Connect earth and reverse wires. On my 93 320ce the reverse wire is Gray with a yellow trace and white spots.
7, Fit display unit / buzzer. I opted for the rear shelf on the lid of the first aid kit.
8, Test the system.
9, Refit bumper. Will post some pictures later.
