Hello

I own a w211 and it's on 127k miles full Mercedes dealer history. It's the I6 engine 204bhp.

I'm tempted to fit a brabus D6 box to this which add somewhere in the region of 40bhp and 70lbs torque... Ish

Now the engine is running as well if not better than new and I only will be doing say 5k miles in it a year.

What do people think, would this be ok to fit given my cars millage?

I can't see any reason why there would be a problem fitting it. There are plenty of people on here that have chipped their diesels with great results, and at various mileages.
Also the Brabus Chip is probably the best one on the market, and is fitted from new to many Merc diesels......
Let us know what you think about the power increase when you have done it ....

Will do, it should make a noticable difference given the figures.

A quick question, is the Brabus tuning box worth the extra ££ over a remap with someone like Angel?

Or indeed another tuning box from another reputable company?

Having looked into these recently I believe they are not recommended for fitment if your car has done less than 18K. Not sure why but would recommend you do a bit more research before committing

^ I've read that on some reports I have found. It does seem brabus only warrant it to 18k miles so recommend this. It would seem if I remap the car or buy another power box then no recomendations arte given....

I would if I fit one go for a known make.

If you have a Mercedes that is still under warranty you can have a Brabus power box fitted and retain the warranty but the mileage is limited to 60,000 or somewhere around there.

Also the car needs to be less than two years old and not covered more than 18,000 miles to retain the warranty for the affected parts.. my E350 is going in tomorrow to have the D6 box fitted, can't wait to see the difference it will make!

If you are after the box for the I6 engine then your car must be at least 5 years old and out of warranty anyway so I would think this is irrelevent.

It is after all a (very good) tuning box/chip and people have thier diesels chipped at all different mileages. I would think that Brabus are just covering themselve with new vehicle warrenties in case there is a problem.

Anyone here running a Brabus box with a high mileage car?

I am still thinking of getting one for my V6 CDI with 113k on the clock....

Am running a D6 on a E320 W211 - awesome kit and my car has over £160k on the clock !

D6(II) on 90k here.
