Hey all, was wondering how easy it was to fit a ntg2 command unit in a facelift w203, i've seen one on the for sale section and a few on ebay, is there any common issues with these units??? What extra hardware will i need to fit this??

Cheers

Shak

You will be better off fitting the newer NTG2.5, which has internal hard disk drive, SD card, and Bluetooth as standard.

comandonline.co.uk fitted it to my 2006 W203 and it was (almost) a straight swap for my original Audio 20 unit.

NTG2 will be straight swap all you will need is GPS antenna and STAR coding to enable navigation on the cluster.

Or you could fit the later Comand NTG2.5 as mentioned above, additional parts will be needed for this.

Cheers for the link above, seems a good site and the ntg2.5 is reasonably priced too. I've seen a used ntg2 for £250 which has a slight mark on the screen, but seems a good buy for the money. So just need to think which one to get :-)

Just keep in mind that you need COMAND unit from the same car as yours (or, from a CLC, in case of the NTG2.5).

Many different MB cars share the same COMAND unit - e.g. NTG2 to NTG2.5 - but each model has a slightly different application so the mounting is different.

People in the know can tell you which MB P/N you will need - different NTG2 or NTG2.5 units for different cars have different P/Ns - otherwise just make sure that the second-hand unit you buy actually came off a facelifted W203 (in case of the NTG2) or from a CLC (in case of NTG2.5).
