Flashing In Public

........I orften see my driver Caruthers waving at other S Class drivers.:p

Driving an R Class, I have been acknowledged by several other wise people driving the same.....

Of course, this doesn't happen very often..............:)

Lotus drivers always acknowledge other Lotus drivers - specially the older models like the original Elan/Elise/7 and Esprit.

Bus drivers round here tend to stop in the middle of the road as they are passing each other and have a chat ....

Gonna wear my horn out if they don't stop soon ;)

Having been a bus driver for 16 year I can say that most of the bus drivers do wave to each other and as for stopping in the middle of the road well that’s just to annoy car drivers (just kidding).
It would be nice gesture if Mercedes owners acknowledged each other. :)

Spent alot of time this past week in the south of Spain in a 1982 VW Campervan (Westfarlia conversion) and every other one flashes us - must be a surferdude thing :)

Last month I was stuck in traffic and the driver of a very very clean Sliver W220 gave me the nod of approval, which at the time I was like "whats he looking at?"

Any Sliver W220 owners from Cambridge on here?

TBH, most other W202 owners I see these days have converted them into fake-Chrome-barry-wagons so I look the other way.

That is because two Lotus cars on the same road, neither of which has broken down, is extremely rare.

:bannana:

..when i owned a Mk1 Golf Cabriolet how when ever i saw one or another VW we would flash our headlights in aknowledgment.

I would think a simple wave of curling tongs or a hair brush would be sufficient.

All the reliant 3 wheeler drivers flash & wave at each other.:p
Doesn't happen as often these days though:rolleyes: . (Yes I do have access to my father’s old reliant rialto:devil: (sat out in the yard as I type this:o )).

A mate of mine used to have a Rialto and others waved at him. He gave the VW salute in return..;) LOL..:D

I thought that was illegal under the public decency laws. The title that is. :D

How very true.

I always had to have my head under the bonnet every Sunday otherwise it would play up during the week. It would KNOW it hadnt had its obligatory 4 hours love and attention and it would either fail to start or misfire badly by way of protest.
Without fail.

I have 3 'rules' on the road, 2 of which relate to the other vehicle:

- If I'm riding my bike and I see another motorbike, I'll give a friendly nod, even for small bikes (this doesn't apply to delivery bikes... regardless of engine size) (and if it's another Ducati I may even raise my hand)

- If I see another MB waiting to pull out, I always try to give them the chance to do so, I tend to be VERY kind to other MB drivers. It's inconspicuous, but makes their journey much more pleasant :)

-The third rule has nothing to do with what vehicle the other person is in, so I won't bother putting it here :p

M.

I do the same, regardless of type of merc or condition, unfortunately the same cannot be said for other badges...

a friend of mine at work bought a smart car a few years back & used to get other smart drivers (usually camp types) waving at him: we found it hilarious:bannana:
