Flashing red LED on rear view mirror

Hi all,
Have a question regarding my '97 C230 and hope you can help. The red LED on the mirror stays on constantly or flashes every 10 secs after I start the car. It goes off or stops after I've been driving a while.

Its been doing this for the last couple of days, with both remote keys. The central locking works fine and everything else seems ok. Replaced the battery in the car last year so that should be fine.

Any suggestions appreciated. Many thanks

batteries in the fob are weak or it may need resynchronising.
try pressing the button on for about 2secs and see if the red light comes on.

Thanks for reply. Red light comes on on both remotes so think they are ok? Read something in handbook about resynchronising so will try that tomorrow. Hope its nothing more serious.
