Forged wheels

tyres are not defective so they are not contractually obliged to take them back, unless you can show that you bought the wheels and tyres as a single unit.

Rash,

I had my fingers crossed for you but to no avail by the sound of it. I am amazed at the poor customer service from the reseller and company has an opportunity to show quality customer service when things are not right. A big fail on their part, they new they would get the wheels back and if they handled it with a professional approach they could of come out with their rep unscathed.

I will be interested yo see the pics.

What size are the tyres?

Justin

Hey Justin :thumb:

Yes, I am shocked that they didn't seem interested in resolving the issue.
After all, the fault lays with the factory, not them.
All Projex had to do was approach the factory and tell them the situation.

Projex are one of BC's customers.. therefore Projex should be able to have some pull on this situation.
But they didn't seem interested.

Seemed to me they were not interested in looking after a customer whjo spent good money with them.

The tyres:
Fronts 245/35/19
Rears 265/30/19

I need to check this but I'm sure that's what size they are.

I'll post up shortly once I check the sizes..

sorry to hear this Rash will you be replacing the wheels somewhere else? If so keep the tyres.

Tony.

Hey Tony :thumb:

Yes, absolutely gutted.

Not sure what I'm going to do about replacement wheels yet.

I'm still in a state of shock at the way this has been handled.

Rash, I'm really sorry to hear this, I don't understand why they had to skim the wheel as surely it was a matter of just stripping the lacquer off and reapplication.

Hope you are able to sell the tyres, I would have bought them if they were in the right size for me,

Hey Don :thumb:

Truly disappointed with this whole situation.

When I first told Projex about the wheel problem, I told them I was worried about the wheel being refurbed.

James assured me that the wheel would be put into a machine that would fire small ball bearings at it to remove the finish, causing no harm to the wheel.
A very clever process, James told me.

I then later questioned this with Stewart, saying that I was worried that the factory would skim the wheel instead.
I told him that when a wheel is skimmed, it will inevitably be smaller than the original size, thus look different to the other wheels.

Stewart said "you must be more of an expert than us because we're talking about fractions of a mm!".

Well, let me show you the pictures later and you tell me if we're talking about fractions of a mm!

I had a feeling they would skim the wheel.
This is what I was worried about!

I voiced all of this to them.
Stewart even asked me to voice my concerns in an email for him to pass to the factory.
I did this, as requested.
Fat lot of good that did!

It looks completely unacceptable.

I will confirm the tyre sizes soon guys.

Hey Sean, hope you are well.

I bought the wheel and tyres all at the same time.
I wanted Projex to supply the tyres because I didn't want the stressful task of getting the tyres fitted myself.

So I told them to supply the wheels and tyres at the same time.

The invoice has the wheels and tyres on it.

One invoice showing all items purchased, at the same time.

stop bloody posting then and get the pics up!

Tony.

What a nightmare, cant believe i actually e mailed these guys and got a quote for wheels just last week and was considering it.......Got a better supplier luckily, but what a disaster.

They knew they were faulty if they had discussed you would not accept them.......disgusting customer service

Hey Lee, hope you are well :thumb:

Seriously don't have words to describe how shocked I am about the way they've chosen to handle this.

I went out of my way to voice ALL of my concerns.
They even ASKED me to voice them.

I explored every possibility with them but they just took this as annoying, bothersome, unnecessary, irritating.

Well look where we are.
All of my concerns have be realised.

They only re-did ONE wheel - as I feared
The wheel DOES look different to the others - as I feared
They DID skim the wheel - as I feared
The issue didn't get resolved - as I feared.

They thought I was just trying to be awkward.

I, as many of you, have had enough experience and dealings with various companies to be wise to a lot of things.

All I was doing was trying to prevent both me and Projex being inconvenienced and having our time wasted.

Any they chose to ignore all of these concerns.

Tony.

Sadly, they will sell those wheels to someone and say they are "perfect".

I'd hate to be that customer, who notices the difference and tries to address this with them.

bad luck Rash, I know just how much you value your car and anything less than perfect will not work, but a 4mm difference doesn't sound like it would be acceptable to anyone.

I just hope everyone is informed by this thread and don't buy these refurbished customer returned wheels !!

Hey Mark,
Hope you are well.

See, this is the thing.
They KNOW how I am with my car.
I have reminded them repeatedly about this.
Stewart, in the early days, even said that he has customers that are worse then me.

They constantly remind people how much money people spend with them and what wonderful exotic cars they work on.

This is what boggles me.
How on earth did they think I would be happy with this wheel.

I am truly disappointed.

Just checked the tyres sizes on the Michelin PSS's.

The fronts are 235/35/19
The rears are 265/30/19

If anyone is interested, they have only been used for approximately 500 miles and are as near as damn it brand new.

those are tyre sizes for the 987 Boxster.

shall I post a link on boxa.net for you?

Rash I am so sorry to hear the outcome of this debacle. I think you had a feeling this would be the outcome, simply because of the previous conversations you have had with them. I have a feeling they didn't send them back to the manufacturer and sent the defective wheel to there local wheel refurbisher. Maybe you should ask for a copy of the email they sent regarding your concerns.

Even at the beginning when they screwed up your delivery, you having to phone all the time for updates etc. Terrible Customer Service from the beginning. If only they knew how damaging this sort of publicity is. I doubt if they will be getting any business from us. Maybe they should be made aware of your disappointment ?

Put it behind you Rash and move on. Easier said than done, I know.

I can't get my head around why they would have taken any metal off?
