Forged wheels

Rash, have you called the bank yet? I am sure they will assist you in getting this resolved.

Rash you need to raise your concerns via their Facebook and Twitter pages and ring your credit card company.

I am most positive this will quickly resolve matters in your favour.

Appalling service from projexuk.

Ps if we all mention projexuk in our posts it will bump this thread up the google search facility.

Clearly the situation is very tense at this time, with the supplier/customer relationship having broken down.

My primary aim now would be to get my refund - I'd do nothing until the collection has taken place and the declared refund has been confirmed.

Both parties need a clear head for a while.

If Projexuk subsequently back track on their commitment then that's a different animal...

If they have booked the courier for collection then it is their responsibility once the wheels leave you. If you booked the courier then it's another matter.

Take photographic evidence of all wheels and packaging just in case you need them for the future.

Just read the update on this trhead and I am fully behind your views Rashman. If they were my wheels I would feel exactly the same. You spent £4K and this is the service you get.

Truly disgusting and them laughing at your perfectionism is just jawdropping! I am the same way about things myself so know how it feels when suppliers and the likes don't share your own standards despite the fact you are the customer!

Rash,

What exactly was refurbished - the dish (barrel), the spokes or both? The gap in multi-piece rim between the centres and the barrels is usually the result of the lip being turned on a lathe, then polished or clear coated. The gap therefore is inevitable. All emotions aside, the refurbisher did a good job on the wheel as they can do only that much. In either case, I would have insisted on replacement wheel, not refurbed as unless you refurb a complete set or 1 side, they never look the same as new. You agreeing to the refurb job was basically it.

Not saying you're in the wrong man. I'm 100% by your side in this. I think you need to drive these back yourself and get a refund on the spot, in their office. No phone calls, no emotions or drama. I bet they will treat you different face to face. Especially if there are other customers around.

Good luck bud and... look at the bright side - new set of wheels every 6 month! LOL Okay, okay, I'm leaving...

PS: why can't you reuse the tyres? I take it you're going with a new set soon so why not use them?

Communication is now by email.
This is how they have fashioned it, not me.
They put the phone down on me and refused to talk.
So I can only communicate to them by email because of this.

Yes, it am pulling my hair out about this but I am going to chill for the moment.

As mentioned, all I want is my money back.
They are collecting the wheels tomorrow.
I also contacted the couriers and asked them to bring packaging wrap to secure the wheels to the pallet.
I will also take photos and ask the driver to confirm condition of the wheels.
I have also stated to Projex that the wheels are not my responsibility once they leave my property.
This is a courier that Projex has employed.
It's the couriers they always use.

I have also contacted my bank who will assist me in retrieving my money if things don't go as suggested by Projex.

Alex,

The dish was not skimmed down.
As far as I can see, they skimmed the top edge of the spokes.
They took a stupid amount off.

As for agreeing to a refurb, no, I did not agree to this.
I had no choice but to accept it as they told me they wouldn't replace the wheel.
I felt that I should at least give them the opportunity to sort the situation as I loved the wheels.

On several occasions, I had stressed to them my strong concerns about having the wheel refurbed.
I made it quite clear how I felt about it and told them that this result was likely to be the case.
Sometimes, I hate being right.

I'll wait for the wheels to be collected and then contact Projex on Monday where we will address the refund.

I don't want this dragging out.
I just want to put this behind me and move on.
Just extremely disappointed with the wheels, the service I received and also the factory.
This whole purchase has been more stress than enjoyment.
At a steep price too.

As for taking the wheels back myself,

Not quite sure how you'd expect me to do that.
Hire a van at my expense?
Then drive 6 hours, at my expense?

There is no way I am putting any more money into this situation.

Nothing has been my fault.
I purchased some expensive wheels that were not fit for purpose.
In a matter of months, the finish failed.
The factory did an extremely poor job at rectifying it.
I am declining the wheels as I have every right to do.

I'm not paying to return them!

No, that's fine. I was trying to save you more hair in case they don't cooperate. Sometimes it's worth more than a hundred quid return trip.

;)

So. Am I correct to assume that you're not going to be buying your next set of wheels from Projex? What is it going to be then? I'm trying to liven up the situation here. LOL!

Hi Rash

Sorry to hear all this , I thought you were a London boy ? North Somerset isn't 6 hours from London , I do Hampton Court to Exeter in 2 1/2.

Chuck them in the clk boot and back seat and take them down , things will be different face to face. It's easy to be difficult via email , much less so with the customer standing in front of you.

You won't need to cause a scene , and I bet you get it sorted there and then.

Good luck

In the back seat? ROFLOL!

Sorry to hear this Rash. Make sure you have lots of photos and couriers acceptance of condition.

My future concern would be Projex will have 'your' tyres and be a pain to get them back.

Hey bud,

It'd be 3 hours there and 3 hours back for me.
Not an option.
Not an option I should have to take either.

As for wheels in the boot of the 63... you clearly don't know me well enough!:D

I'm not sure Rash's back seats have ever been put down!

I've had a few discussions with him over the phone over the last couple of days and as communication has broken down, email is the only way forward. If they fail to respond then Rash can word them in such a way as a no response means that they accept what he tells them. I've discussed with him returning the wheels but as he says, this would involve more expensive to him.

All he can do is await the courier tomorrow and hopefully they will refund promptly and return his tyres (or refund for the whole lot), either way he has other options such as his bank or even small claims court if they are not swift enough

Let's hope that in this last throws of what is a horrible mess that Projex do the right thing

Hey Simon, hope you are well.

Yes, wheels in the boot of the 63.... Howard has much to learn.:D

I'm hoping that Projex would prefer not to drag this out any longer than necessary.
I'm sure they don't want this being a hot topic on forums any more than it already is.
I'm already hearing that my thread is popping up here and there which surprised me.

Hopefully this will be resolved come Tuesday, as Monday is bank holiday and I'm sure I won't here from Projex until Tuesday.

For 4 grand without tyres id expect them to come with their own oompa loompa to clean them after every use let alone worrying about the finish !!!

Yes, I had high expectations for these wheels and the purchase experience considering the price.

The wheels themselves came to a little under £3500
I then paid for the tyres on top of this.

The wheels would have been more but I believe they put a small discount on them at the time of purchase because of the mess up with the order.

I waited 7 weeks for the wheels instead of the quoted 3 week turn-around time.

Funnily enough, that's why I didn't have the wheels at Olly's last PCS meet.
This year's PCS meet cam around and I STILL didn't have them because I had to get this wheel situation sorted and didn't have them back in time.

Took nearly 2 months to get it addressed from the time of reporting the fault to the time they were delivered back to me yesterday.

Sadly, I won't have the wheels for the NEXT PCS meet either.

Rash is the Oompa Loompa!

My OCD would put any oompa loompa to shame!

This is another thing.
Companies like to do big business with people willing to spend over the odds but they have great difficulty catering for their tastes expectations and preferences.

Very disappointing.
