Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Some stand outs for me

Perez was as solid as ever - RP know they are letting a good driver go
Kimi - what a first lap!
LeClerc - great race result in a not so great car
Gasly - Making another statement for the RB seat next year
Sainz - another solid performance and great first few laps!
Lewis - absolutely blew everyone out of the water including his team mate. He lapped every diver up to and including P5

Not so good for Albon, getting lapped by your team mate is never good. Stroll also had a dismal performance.

I enjoyed that race, think they have done well with the schedule all things considered.

Hamilton drove exceptionally well and I am not a fan. Get the feeling that patience may soon run out with Bottas though, he just seems to crumble under pressure.

Think Albon will be on his way now, he just simply isn't delivering.

Stroll was really poor today, in fact was somewhat less than stellar the whole weekend. Not very comfortable knowing that he is only in the team next year because Daddy Stroll has deep pockets.

I agree. VB has the body language of a beaten man lately.

Max to Merc would be awesome for everyone to see (apart from Merc that is!)

I think Sergio has 3 offers on the table.

1. Williams - on the way up but will take a while to get to where is is now with RP
2. Haas - Again not very quick but will keep him in F1
3. Red Bull - obviously the best seat he can get but this one is out of his control. I think he hasn't signed with anyone yet because he is waiting to see if he gets the yay or nay from Red Bull.

Williams - might be an interesting project for Sergio, especially now they seem to have decent funding.
Haas - I find it hard to believe that Ferrari would allow a customer team to be truly more competitive than the factory team.
Red Bull - if they get to take over the Honda IP (subject to Ferrari veto I think), that could be a really interesting project. Not sure how much control he may or may not have. Given the disappointing performance level from Alex (which is a shame because I like him), RBR need someone in the second seat.

One of the better races today, unlike MotoGP.
I like the circuit and it gave the viewer plenty of action.
Huge respect to LH for what he has achieved over the years.
As said, Bottas looks a beaten man. His whole demeanour suggests he has given up on the remote chance Lewis would relax or slip up. He needs to watch he doesn't lose 2nd place to MV.

Really impressed with Perez after his 1st lap incident. He drove a fine race, as did LeClerc and Gasly.

Race to Perfection shout out again.
Got it on again and very enjoyable.

We do owe so much for what we have now to so many of these people.

Watching that race you have to wonder whether the lack of overtaking has less to do with the cars than the circuit design. Really great race and maybe food for thought for Tilke and his ilk.

Maybe. However, after the hectic first few laps the DRS was far too effective.

I didn't find it a particularly entertaining race if I'm honest. Great achievement by Lewis and in my opinion more impressive than Michael Schumacher, as he was often given preference over his team mate, whereas Lewis has gained his on pure merit. (Plus a decent car of course, but that is obviously a requirement)

How many did he pass on that lap???

I think it was 10 cars in total. Shame he finished outside of the points.

I did look on the Beeb and noticed how many comments with contempt for LH and then remembered Toto saying - Drivers who say Lewis Hamilton wins because he has the best car should ask themselves “why they haven't found their way into a Mercedes.

These new tracks have certainly added an extra something to some of the races this year and it'll be a shame if they're all dropped in favour of some of the usual borefest tracks next year.

Gasly has been confirmed for Alpha Tauri but Kvyat has not so looking like he will be replaced. If Albon doesn't improve then he will take the other seat I think. Looks like Red Bull may well sign someone outside of their stable

But who will sign for Red Bull with an unknown engine supplier?
