Formula 1, Moto GP, WSB, 2021 Season

I think MB should consider fitting indicators and brake lights to the rear of LH's 2022 car - for the benefit of MV (and to make it easier for the stewards to make for once a correct decision!!

I think MV has been given enough already…

Inevitable in these times I guess.

These people are just trolls and not fans of F1, in fact not fans full stop. I supported Hamilton/Mercedes in that race but neither Latifi nor Max did anything wrong. Even Horner and Toto were pressurising Masi to get a decision in their favour and did it because they were allowed to communicate with Masi. Subsequently Toto has said that they should not be allowed to do that and that perhaps only the Sporting Directors should be allowed to talk to the Race Director.

If it had been Perez or an Alpha Tauri that crashed, there could have been a smell of unfair play but even still I don't think any of the drivers on the grid would have done so. Cyber threats are a crime and I hope these keyboard warriors are found out.

Schumacher to share Ferrari reserve duties

Mick Schumacher will share Ferrari reserve driver duties in the 2022 in addition to racing with Haas for a second season.
The son of Ferrari’s most successful and famous driver, Michael, has been a member of the Scuderia’s academy since 2019 and this year made his F1 race debut with Haas, who the Italian team have a technical partnership with.
Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto has said that Schumacher will be their reserve at 11 of next season’s 23 races when Antonio Giovinazzi, dropped from a race seat by Alfa Romeo, is not available due to the Italian’s new racing commitments in Formula E.
"Whenever he [Giovinazzi] will be at the race track he will be our reserve driver. And as well he will be available to our customer teams, so both Haas and Alfa Romeo," Binotto was quoted as saying by Reuters."
For the remaining 11 races... Mick Schumacher will be reserve driver for Ferrari."

Looking at the car repair costs attributed to each driver in 2021, it’s a good job Ferrari have deep pockets...

Probably should be in a 2022 thread

I got ripped a new one last year for starting a new season thread and combining MotoGP in with it.
I'll leave it to someone else this year;):)
That's ok!
As an Audi owner and someone who has never worked in F1, maybe I should do it and receive all the flak for crashing before the end of the year:dk:

That sounds like me!

I'll start it if you don't, this thread is about done with as the seasons are over

I haven't re read this whole thread but from memory very little of its content is MotoGP. So maybe next season keep them separate. Let's face it , they are very different disciplines in so many ways.

Speed , money and global audience exposure being 3 that spring to mind. As a lifelong motorcyclist I find the bikes are spectacular to watch but many F1 followers will never bother to watch a bike race, and visa versa.

Well said PP - like you I watch MotoGP, British and World superbikes (until BTTV stop my Eurosport channels!!) so loads more than the F1 that I watch - normally only on Ch4 "highlights" as I'm not prepared to pay for Sky Sports ( my BTTV and broadband already costs £86pm!!). Delighted to read recently that Mark Marquez is hoping to be back for 2022, we've missed him this season - although he did manage 3 wins, hope 2022 will see him give FQ a run for his money!!

err....about 10%
When you see the quality of writing like this, you may understand why I have some trepidation.

You have no reason to be intimidated by Tremayne Mactech - substance trumps style. And your writing is better than Newey's who's book was worth the reading nonetheless. Its greatest gift was opening the door on race engineering. That door is left open and your racing instinct must surely see that as a gap.....

I have known David Tremayne for over 40 years. There is no intimidation just friendship!
It's just he has been writing good stuff for nearer 50 years, knows most of what there is to know about motorsport, but I still wouldn't expect hime to engineer a race car....
He was editor of Motoring News in the 80's. In July 88 the front page looked like this.
Headlines were that Brundle won at Brands in my Jaguar, at the bottom of the page is a mention on Senna winning another F1 race.
The F1 PR machine has come on a long way since then😉
