Formula 1 2025

Thanks for that Alistair. 👌

I assume you’ve been to the MTC many times? We had our name down for a tour for many years. The invite finally arrived 3 days before our daughter was due so we politely declined. Unfortunately we never got a second chance. ☹️
No! I've never been. Having been based in Norfolk, Crewe and Dovenby for most of my projects this century, my only reason to be in that area has been to get flights from Heathrow...

I was saddened to see the announcement of the passing of Eddie Jordan this morning.

Eddie and I started Eddie Jordan Racing in 1981 and he was like nobody else I have ever known. A banker by profession, but a passionate motorsport lover as both driver in his early days, but much more renowned for being one of the very few independent F1 team owners.
Eddie was comical, irreverent, generous and the best deal maker I have ever met. How many others have made it into F1, had fun while he was there and escaped the 'sharks pool' with millions in the bank?
I was extremely lucky to work with a true 'one off' person for 5 years.
I know and understand there are quite a few people who don't 'get' Eddie, but I have never had a friend and boss who I have had more laughs with or taught me more about money. Motorsport will be much poorer for his loss.

RIP Eddie

Another huge Eddie fan here. One of those famous people I’d have loved to have gone for a few pints with and talked about everything and nothing. He came across as a genuine Top Bloke.

One of my recollections is that he seemed to have a personal relationship or connection with a huge number of drivers - going back to their early careers before and at the start of F1.

Michael Schumacher started his F1 career in a Jordan.

And then we have Heinz Harald Frentzen and Jordan and the 1999 season where they looked like they were gaining traction as team that could fight for the championship.

Is it bad that i am still rooting for Lewis?

Thanks Tony.
Whether they love him or hate him, lots of people - not just Lewis fans, F1 fans or British people - want to see Lewis win the Championship which was unfairly taken away from him. I’m one of them.

If Lewis can’t win then I’d love to see McLaren back on top for a while. If I can determine the order of the queue then I’d like to see Williams fighting at the top again. Everyone loves an underdog.

Excellent pole position yesterday, nailed the start and covered Max into Turn 1. With his ability to manage tyres while maintaining pace, it was Hamilton’s race to lose. Norris cooked his fronts early on and the struggled. Piastri managed his race well and will be a threat tomorrow. Max cooked his tyres trying to pressure Lewis and had nothing left in the final third.

Good start to the weekend. :thumb:
