Hi folks,

Having lurked a bit, picked up a lot of useful information from here and seen the interest you guys have, I thought it time to join the fray.

Just posted a newbie intro, but thought I'd repeat it here.

And here's the reason for my joining.....

Hopefully I will pick up some forum etiquette and perhaps be able to contribute a bit over time.

I will write the saga of how this acquisition came to be as a separate post for those with the time or inclination to read such.

Cheers
Bon

welcome, good choice of car, you will pick up a wealth of info here,

Thanks chaps, whats not to like in a practical family estate with a supercar engine shoved in it?

Lovely - welcome aboard :thumb:.

Welcome... lots of information available here for that model... looks clean.

What options on the car?

What options on the car?

I can honestly say I don't know what was standard and what was optional on this car - if you can direct me to anything in/on the car or original documentation, I'll look it up and tell you!

It has a lot of toys in it! Still have haven't worked out what they all are/do!!

Nice car Paul.
Options on the E55 include rear electric blind, linguatronic, distronic, heated and cooled seats, dynamic (massage seats), rear side window blinds, keyless go, TV/DVD, among others.
Register here https://emb-cda.mercedes-benz.com/c.../my_mercedes_2/home.flash.html&errorstate=ll1 and you can find out everything your car has regarding options fitted.

Thanks for that, looks like I have a good few options at the outset. I'll register as suggested and post the full list when I have had a chance to check it out.
Cheers

Looks like a very nice example Paul, congrats & welcome!

What options on the car?

I had a little bit of tidying to do on the rear valance which had been scraped, but otherwise it's pretty clean.

I checked out the options list... it's long! I don't know what is standard and what is optional but apart from some obvious looking stuff that I assume is standard, the list looks like this:

· Anti-theft warning system
· Automatic air conditioning (THERMOTRONIC)
· Automatically dimming int.and ext.mirrors
· Bi-xenon headlamps f. left-side dr. traffic
· COC paper - no registration certification
· COMAND APS multimedia system
· Climatised front seats (heated and ventilated)
· Cooling capacity - booster package
· Driving dynamic seat, left
· Driving dynamic seat, right
· EASY-PACK-stowage box
· EASY-PACK-tailgate
· Electric sunroof, glass version
· Electrically folding exterior mirrors

I still haven't read the whole of the owners manual to work out what everything is, but have a handle on most of the stuff on the dash and centre console now!

Even aside from the toys which are nice, it is a cracking car to drive and the first car I have driven which has better seats than my old Saab 9000 Aero.

Thanks to all for the welcome messages, much appreciated.

if you go to a dealer with proof of ownership they will print off the Oasis report.

It contains lots of factory build/ship/dealer data, which you may find interesting, but it also shows the options fitted, with option cost, in a separate column from the standard spec - very useful.
