Front seat upgrade to W114 Coupe?

I'm searching for suitable Recaros from late 70's to early 80's for my project.

Since Mercedes did not have any by the time, I'm looking at BMW's. I've found that seats from 6-series and E21 or E30 have a nice design touch of that era.

Now my concern is are these Recaros too low for a W114? Or is it only to build a frame to fit them higher, if needed?

Any ideas on this? Thanks.

hi l looked at installing some recaro type seats that were on a 88 Porsche 911 a while ago to my 250ce.. they were going to sit a bit low,and l didn't go through with the project because it would not pass a road worth inspection because of the frame I would of had to build for them... the seats were a deep set seat... the 250ce coupe driving position seems to be a bit low even for someone at 6 foot. and the steering position high..

This is my driving position with regular Coupe seat. I'm 180 cm. I don't find it too low.



These are the seats I'm currently looking at. They are from a early 80's 6er (E24).



These can be both tilted and adjusted vertically.



I guess I need to measure the height of my originals and compare.

seating on yours seems fine.. mine just bottoms out with 90kg on it..i think it may need some new springs..the 250 is coming onto 44 years the recaro seats l wanted to install were extra low...and narrow and electric..
