You may have something there. The colder the weather the more likely my BAS light is liable to shout Oi and illuminate itself 'til the next time I switch off and on again. This car is left out overnight every night.

I can remember placing an old blanket over the engine of my old Austin A40 Cambridge in cold weather. The thing is you had to remember to remove it in the morning, it didn't work in conjunction with the fan.

I used to pull the choke out just before I switched off my old Morris Marina. Started first time every time, after I took the blanket off too.
My daughters home for Christmas and she's got it up to 22 degrees in the living room so far. I'm too hot in shorts but I can't take anything else off.
