Had some fuel on my drive under the car the other day. Couldn't find anything obvious, but cannot see too much on my car due to the engine taking up all the bay!!!

Whilst in the Dealer for my Fog light Glass (see seperate thread) I asked them to look at it. It needs to be booked in asap for the Injector mods as they found leakage. Also doing other mods, but not all apply to my car, like Sat-Nav and Phone. Booked in for next Wednesday.

Hi Brian,
Sorry to hear of the problems. Was it Marcos that had the slight diesel leak on his 211? The dealer was aware of the problem and said it was not the first case that he had heard about.

Its not very nice having even small droplets of diesel on the driveway.

Good luck with the 'up dates' My car ended up being in for two days, are they supplying a courtesy car?

Regards,
John

It is obviously a known problem as it is now a recall. but as and when.

No I cannot wait till a car is available as I have a long trip planned on the 11th unfortunately.

It could be leaking injectors, fuel lines or pump.

I heard recently CDi engined cars have had production stopped due to the number of failing pumps. :o

Well Injector mod carried out Free of charge. They also had to replace a Coolant Hose due to Fuel Contamination.

Exactly what they did to mine 2yrs ago Brian.
The high pressure pump was next and then the useless little clips they use on the low pressure side.
Touch wood it's ok now though ;)

Any idea's where I look at check this?

I've started to notice a smell of diesel when I stop the car.

If you are still in warranty do not bother. Just call Mobilo. They came and fixed a small leak (new hoses and decent clips) on the low pressure side very quickly.

Just called them and got through to a call centre in Holland. Apparently within 30 minutes a local agent will call me and tell me the estimated time of arrival!

Thanks for the suggestion Satch.

I hope they come before 6pm or I'll be stuck waiting at work!

The promised to be here by 5:45pm, its 5:40pm now and no sign of them!

Hope they come soon as I do want to get home tonight!

Well the very nice man came, and didn't know anything about the recall.

He found the leak, it is in the Leak Off pipe (last pipe), and is also why it has been slow to start sometimes as its loosing pressure.

But, its not a part they carry! So I've still got to take it to a dealer. He said it is safe to drive but I should get it fixed straight away.

Chatting to the guy he is South African and has only been here three months. Mondial poached 10 of them from Mercedes in South Africa to come and work over here for them.

do not carry a plastic part that takes seconds to fit and we all know they are sub standard and failing umm umm

He said it was the actual length of pipe that needed replacing.

Morning everyone,
What is starting to concern me is the number of members that have experienced small, but annoying fuel leaks on their diesel powered 211 vehicles!

I accept that diesel is not as volatile as petrol, but it should NOT be happening. Diesel smells, it does not evaporate as quickly as petrol, it will damage a tarmac driveway and stain brick or concrete. Plus it smells! (I know I have already said that, but diesel does pong if you have an internal garage)

I wonder how many members own a 211, and how many have actually had a problem?

I will risk starting a new thread with poll, but just hope I pu it in the right forum!!!!!

Moving it might cause an explosion   :)

And???

Leak off pipe can be bought at any motorist shop, it's just rubber tube.
