I must have answered more that 1000 post where the OP has said my car will not rev over 4k RPM

Now as far as I know every auto petrol car has this feature the the limiter comes into play at 4k RPM in N and P

My 124 had it, 129 did it

Any views on this please, I had this info in the older versions of the workshop info, but much is deleted in the newer versions.

We all know as do the AA and RAC that they do give problems, we also know that the car will run with terminals 30 linked to 87 as a get home.

In Crammys car he says that it goes owell over the 4k mark, so has a manual box relay been fitted

Hi Malcolm,

Not sure that all of the MB models have this - eg, I don't think the 201s do, possibly the older 124s are similar?

I had a manual W202 once (1996/7 C200), and this definately had the 4k cutout (in neutral/stationary)

Hope that helps a bit :)

Will

w123 is 6K and this relay also controls the cutoff of fuel to the carb when switching ignition off... i have been through a few of these!

I've recently been reading the KE-Jetronic information (covering engines 102/103/104/119 in the 124/129/201) in the WIS and have seen no mention of the engine speed being limited to 4000 r.p.m. when the gear selector is in N or P.

This has been deleted now as has much of the info, though I still have the older versions I cant have 2 programs on the same computer.

The 126 did have this, and was the first post that I ever did on a forum

Really? The information I've got is from the (genuine, authorised, paid for) WIS in May 2007. It did take me a while to find all the old 124 info, though...

I am using 06 thats up to 09-05 finding stuff on this one is nothing like as good for the early cars.

Yes I have to put in the car number to find stuff not in the list.
Looking for info on the 140 104994 (Marks car) I have nothing.

The TV info has also now gone on the retrofits, or put it this way, nothing like my older version.

Do I need 4 computers, I hope not:)

I was in a 95 E220 last night and in neutral it revs right around..
