Fuel saver?

Buy one and find out for yourself.

But dont expect any benefits. Its complete rubbish.

However, please be my guest and prove me wrong.

in addition to that thread, was there ever a pic of Ian's car with one fitted? and did it really make any difference? With Ian's reputation on here, if he says it works then i'm assuming it may of done??

personally it sounds too good to be true, and i cant see it making any difference.

If a 7 quid magnet could save 10 - 25% of your fuel bill all manufacturers would fit them as standard. Ask yourself why they don't.

Fair enough. As though.. too good to be true!

Must say, I'm mightly impressed any way with the fuel consumption on my E220 CDI

As fitted to the Porker which gives me about 35mpg . In the Coupe I went from Preston to Paris just less than a full tank. Work it out.

It is strange but I have one on Emma's Smart and it does make a difference.

I tested it for a while and it does work.

There was a test on this on some TV program I forget, but it was fitted to a pick up (L200 type thing)

It did save fuel but they couldn't put it down to the gadget or a change in driving style.

I guess for £7 try it for a few tanks and then flog it if it doesn't.... With e-bay you could probably make more than you paid :)

There is only one way to tell, test it properly with a double-blind study.

There have been a couple of fully controlled scientific tests, and they've shown no difference at all.

i dont believe it works at all, however best way to test though is if your wife or someone else you know has a car she only uses, fit it to that and dont tell them.

then see if it makes a differnce.

usually if you fit it and drive the car yourself you will be trying to save fuel by being lighter-footed and then convince yourself that its the cheapo ebay item that is working and not just you driving more slowly!

Adding three drops of snake oil to each tank also saves fuel...

I'm goinf to fold my mirrors on that must be worth a bit of mpg :) :)

seriously though good point above, fit it to wifes / partners cars ad don't tell them then work out the fuel (assuming you do that already so you know what they are getting)

If its claims are correct my wife could eeek close on 50mpg out of her petrol A210 :) :)
