Full exterior valet, heavy paint contamination

Had my local valeter out a few days ago, car had heavy paint contamination after driving over or parking near something nasty.



Car received full iron fallout spray down, snow foam, full clay then a coating of ceramic crystal coating wax. £30 for the lot, had some pictures of the heavy contamination on the sills but it wouldn’t let me upload the photos..

Anyone in the County Durham area looking for a valeter, then jays mobile valeting is who you want to use.

Also just purchased a new van which was absolutely rotten due to it been an ex heater company van. Interior is now like brand new & smells lovely, highly recommended.

Yeah it really was £30, the photos don’t do it justice to be honest. Shame I can’t upload the photos of the bottom half of the car, the paint contamination was an absolute mess.

Jay is really good with his prices & only uses the best gear (autoglym + Magura etc)

Jay is fully booked all day every day, for anything more than a quick wash your looking at atleast a month waiting time. He’s also known for his work on high end cars, Ferrari’s Porsche mclaren etc which I’m guessing isn’t as cheap as the job he did on mine. He also has 25+ years experience, so what might take any normal bloke 2 hours probably takes jay 30 minutes. Meaning he can do a lot of work per day, he also has major contracts with a lot of dealerships where bulk work is taken on. Plus taxi agencies

I think Jay needs to start touring the UK, with the demand on this forum alone it will cover the cost of Travelodge. There two specialist caravan detainers who do that, and they sequence their bookings so they can do them on a tour.

Not 100% on the time frame, I had to leave in the van for work. I was gone around 2.5 hours & when I got back he was done. Again, im not sure how he works but he did say that he only leaves 1/2 slots per day where he can pop out to do little jobs. So he classed doing the car & the interior of my van as a little job.

I also live in the same town as him, so it’s not like he’s using £10 of diesel. I can’t see someone who has as much experience and as good as a rep that he has not running his business at a good profit, he could easily charge extra & still get the business

£30 !! how is that even possible ? even paying himself minimum wage, taking into account van/fuel and materials can't be making anything on that job. Well done for getting such a good job done for such little money.

What would you guys expect to pay for what I’ve had done? Also where abouts in the country are you from, I’m guessing the further south you get the more expensive these services become.

I’m from the north east, I understand £30 is cheap when you think of the blokes costs & how good of a job he has done. But most of people I know struggle to take home £300 a week in wages, so spending £30 to just get the outside of your car cleaned would seem crazy to them. I’m booking jay in again for a deluxe valet which is inside & out which is roughly £60. A friend of mine who is also a MB owner thinks I’m absolutely crazy
