i would still check the relay they are quite common bought a 190e in the week and it was fine took it for mot saturday morning as i had someone coming to look at it and it stopped as it was pulled of the ramp turned out to be the relay you can bridge 2 of the terminals with a piece of wire 87/and 30 the pump will then run permanently but it will let you know if that was the fault.
other than that there is a filter as the fuel lines enter the metering head that could be partially blocked.
