Hi Guys,
Up till 2 weeks ago, I hadn’t cleaned my work van for 5 months! Unfortunately work comes first and when it comes to black vehicles it takes a lot longer than just a quick wash to get it looking perfect. I didn’t even switch my summer wheels to winter wheels, which resulted in the road salt eating into the diamond cut finish. So a few months ago I booked out 5 days to give my van a mini overhaul. This would include all detailing aspects that would be needed as well as wheel refurbishment and a new floor fitted to the bed of the van. So to start with the wheels were remove for refurbishment and the washing process was to begin. The door shuts were degreased with surfex HD, scrubbed and rinsed along with the scuttle panel.
While they were on there I gave the steel wheels a clean with bilberry wheel cleaner and iron x, ready for next winter.
Then thorough snow foam:
Then the van was washed with dodo juice btbm and the zaino twins. The upper half was washed with a carpro mitt and the lower half with an optimitt.
The van was then rinsed, brought inside and dried with a 70/30 towel and warm air blower. I then clayed the van with elite car care’s very own mild clay and Megs last touch quick detailer.
Once completed the van was given a thorough IPA wipe down and was ready for inspection. Being my own van there was no swirls marks or marring. Just some nasty bush runs in along the sides of the van with country lane driving. But these would be no problem with the new 5’’ LC CCS pads:
Straight scratches were removed with Megs 105 and a yellow lc ccs pad. Then the entire van was refined using Megs 205 and a black lc ccs pad various shots of the van under the halogens:
