Gone And Bought Myself An AMG...

Bought a C36 yesterday, needs a bit of work (body rust, timing setting, putting through an MOT) but the interior is mint and it's had a load of work done already. I will more than likely simply buy another silver W202 and strip it for donor parts.

It's only done 110,000 miles with full service history, I didn't buy a 190e Cosworth because I simply couldn't find a blue/black 2.3 that ticked enough boxes. I've heard that a Cosworth gearbox can be fitted quite easily to the C36?

I'll keep this thread updated as I go along, although I should probably start a section in the 'projects' forum.

Anyway, here it is...

Nice one Lee, I'm sure it'll look great and go brilliantly when you've finished with it.
Did it come compete with that plate?

That would make an intereting chariot with the dogleg getrag fitted....

Well done.... and SUBSCRIBED... so keep us posted.!..

Eurocarparts do wings for £35 each after discount - the one in the photo looks rotten.

May I ask how much? - That will look nice once its had some TLC!

Cheap AMG.

Whats wrong with teh timing?

Whats wrong with teh timing?

It's had a new chain and the AMG timing marks are different to the C280's, so he's given me the settings that have come from AMG themselves. I'll be getting it up and running first and foremost, test it, then start looking at the bodywork.

that will be a nice car with some tlc, still miss mine!

Ahh yes. Make sure it still has its AMG cams. I came across one recently that had a new chain and it didnt run right. It had had the cam actuator pick up broken off at some point and welded in the wrong place and the cams had become C280 cams..... The cam actuator was £1500 alone. He said he was going to sell it. It also needed a new engine loom too as it was shot to bits.

Seems like a fun project car. Did you view this car a while ago? The photo and/or car looks familiar from a thread you posted in before.

What's nice about £800 cars is that all you can loose is £800 and some skin off your knuckles whilst repairing. :)

Oh no , not another pile of crap Lee. I suppose i could offer to take it off your hands for £500. Knew you would not last long without a Merc.

This should make a good car

Well done
