Got a proper C55 this time!

Hey all, well I went a total of 24 hours without a C55 over the weekend. Hehe.

Managed to pick up Joe's old Black C55, and first impressions are its what I should of waited for in the first place, I love it! Suspension is brilliant, inspires more confidence in the corners. And it looks a lot better in black. The carbon trim inside is really nice, and I like the wheels a lot. Theres a tiny bit of kerbing on 2 of them, but nothing major.

Got a few cosmetic things to sort, the wheel bolts are nasty with rust, and the rear calipers could do with some love, got LED sidelights on the way and the number plate surrounds are falling off a little. Also got a problem with the passenger side trim rattling when the speaker is working, and the illuminated door sills aren't working.

Fitted the correct bonnet latch, as the stock C55 one was catching on the grille. Shame on you Joe for doing that!

Its on 64,000 miles now.

Paint probably needs machine polishing as its still got plenty of swirls in, but then black is really hard to keep swirl free. In the daylight it looks pretty dam good.

Who fitted the illuminated sills mate? Wonder if the fuse is gone, or somet, as all 4 aren't working....

Gonna grab some new plates and sort them out, don't like the surround on it anyways, it rattles when you close the boot, and it looks tacky IMO.

Looks good - are your interior parts Di-Noc wrapped? Mine have been done like this but some bits are split or peeling away so it needs re-doing.

I've also thought of getting those parts dipped but I think that will require a whole different level of dismantling for the door parts.

Looks fab. I agree it's great in black. Love the wheels too.

And yes. I thought strange that quad exhaust was at the front. Would be great for hearing the V8 bellow on the motorway though.

Lovely. Where did you or the previous owner get the front grille from? I am after one for mine but it seems the standard C class one does not fit because the front end of the AMG is different Mine has the standard plain slatted one.
