Just got a new PC on Windows7 and running IE10 (?)

On the Page tab, the dropdown menu has 'Send Link (and Page) by email' but it's greyed out. Any ideas how to make them go live please?

Please don't suggest I try Firefrocks cos I don't like it.

Ta.

Do you have Outlook installed?

Not sure but don't think so. It's running Windows Live Mail which I also don't like. The old computer had Outlook Express which was nice and simple and the drop-down worked fine with that. Bah-humbug to all these new fangled toys...:(

I think it integrates with Microsoft office so you would need Outlook installed to make it live and be able to send via e mail. Works perfect on mine but I do have Outlook.

This might help

send link by email greyed out in windows 7 - Microsoft Community

1. Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Default Programs / (Programs ->
Default Program)
2. On the Default Program window, click on Set program access and computer defaults.
a. Highlight Custom and click on the arrow on the right side besides custom.
b. Choose Internet Explorer for web browser and Windows Mail for Email and click on OK.
3. Select Associate a File type or protocol with a program.
a. Locate Mailto and double-click on it.
b. Select Windows Mail and click OK.
4. Click on Set your default programs and make Internet Explorer and Windows Mail as default programs.
Open Internet Explorer and check if you still have the same issue.

Thanks Balge, and others, for the help. That ^ did work although I have to click after the URL once it's pasted into WLM to activate the link. Some of the other posters on that thread complained of the same phenomenon. No big deal though.
What a great pity they didn't just keep OE when it is so simple to use. There's always some Microsoft bright spark who thinks he knows a better way.

Next question if you have time please. Most, but not all, webpages/forums open in half-screen size. How do I fix that?

Ta once again. :thumb:

Internet Explorer window may not open maximized

"You can change the Internet Explorer window back to the preferred size by using either of the following methods:
Maximize the Internet Explorer Window

To maximize the Internet Explorer window, click Maximize on the System menu (globe on the left of the Internet Explorer title bar).
Resize the Internet Explorer Window

To resize the Internet Explorer window, move the mouse pointer to the lower-right corner of the Internet Explorer window, and then drag the window until it is the size you want.

Once the Internet Explorer window is the size you want, quit and restart Internet Explorer."

Holding down ctrl while closing the IE window helps sometimes

Thanks again Balge. Once again you've fixed it although it took me some time to get it right. Doh!
