hamilton

Get a grip, I see people of the same age getting p***ed every weekend, throwing up and barely able to function as human beings - and I work at a University.
And the sad thing is that some people find this type of behaviour acceptable. We should all get a grip and start behaving differently.

I am not a prude, I have been known to have the odd drink or five, but being abusive and regularly throwing up is ignorant, rude and unacceptable. We have allowed it and it looks like some folks are condoning it and perhaps we get the society we deserve?

Eat, drink and be merry, is a great philosophy, your example is a different one.

I was reading some comments on the BBC website about Hamilton and he really is beginning to annoy people. They were really having a go about him.
I must admit his silly pathetic weekly comments about Alonso are really staring to annoy me but you still can't take the fact away that he is about to become world champion in his first year.
He just needs to grow up a bit.

Lets have a reality check shall we? Of course Hamilton needs to grow up but in the same way any other 22 year old does.

The fact that a 22 year old rookie even has a shout at winning the "WORLD F1 CHAMPIONSHIP" is amazing, beyond belief, and like a dream. The fact that he is British makes it all the better and all the more amazing.

For gods sake get behind him and stop being so tabloid, we love a winner in the UK for a few months then we love to knock them off their pedestal.

Hamilton has no more reason to be more controlled in his comments than David Becham has to be a brain surgeon or a great public speaker, Hamilton's qualifications to be a world champion (or even drive in F1) are to do with his driving skills. God forbid at 22 he still has some life skills to learn! most 22 year olds I know are too busy avoiding work and taking drugs to do anything worth while.

Poor role model? ********.

John, I am sorry you woke up and the world has changed but you are expecting todays role models to still behave like the last generations, its unrealistic as they have a different base line to begin from as whether you like it or not the world has changed. In reality these days in F1 your driving is not enough you have to know how to play the game, Stirling Moss might have been very nice to his fellow racers but these days while he was making his team mate a cup of tea he would be letting his tyres down!

John,

Please explain what you want / how you want Lewis to act???

I don't understand everytime I have seen him interviewed he comes across very polite, clear and knowledgable. He is ONLY 22 for goodness sake? dread to think what I was like at 22, probably driving like an idiot in my 205Gti.

What is with people knocking winners, why can we not all get behind him.

upward and onwards I think.

PS, I was gutted today when sat watching it playing with the little one Lewis went off. Even the baby was sad..still makes for a great last race!!
