Can anyone tell me which mb head unit has iPod connectivity? Even if its just via an aux connection I would be happy. Just got my 53 plate clk and it has a audio 10 with CASSETTE player and a multi change CD player in glove comp. I know about the cassette you can get to play your ipod but the sound quality is naff. Please help!! All my music is all stored digitally and I don't want to start getting cd's again. I would be willing to buy none mb unit but I still want the steering wheel controls and the dash display to work. Hope someone can help. Thanks Bruce.

No MB unit of that era has proper iPod connectivity.

Go aftermarket with wheel control adapter.

Yes, thought about that but thought I might lose the dash display. I've been looking on the net and saw that an audio 20 has an aux facility. What do you know about them? Might be cheaper than a command unit. There was an uplift in mid 2004 but not sure what they started to put in. Thanks for replying. Any further help would be great.!

Or Comand with AUX input in the glove box (its not fully integrated for iPods though!)

The command unit would be great but quite expensive. Have a look at my reply to redbaron and tell me what you think.thanks for reply:-)

The audio 20 can take an aux input. its activated by holding the cdc button from what i can remember :) hope this helps

Not sure about the Audio 20 unit. The change in 2004 was a lot more under the hood with a change to the digital bus to MOST. I know it is posible to fit the different hazard switches and AC (I do have these for sale) but I think you would need to change the fixing cage in the centre console, purchase the loom for AUX as well and possible some coding (not sure on that bit) so probably not cheap in the end!

You'll get much more for your money by avoiding comand at all costs.

You will only loose the bit on the cluster that says BBCR2 or whatever, you still get everything else.

To put in the later Audio 20 needs new climate controls, hazard switch panel and wood/alu trim.
Too expensive.

Something like this that will give you everything including bluetooth will set you back around £300 including plug and play harness, fascia and steering wheel controls.

I Have just listed a Dynavin on e.bay , it won't work in my CLK because it has a fibre optic amp , check it out on Dynavin web-site and let me know it you want more details.

Look at Sony XNV or XAV series , both can be integrated into existing controls , Bluetooth connectivity to your iPhone , the XNV units have TomTom navigation built in , the others use the app from your phone , both will play music from your phone or from CD via the in dash slot , DVD video playback on screen when stopped , or via rear headrest screens on the move , input for reversing camera also .

Probably do-able if you find a suitable post facelift donor car to get all the centre console parts from - such cars do turn up in breakers yards , although the Audio 20 is often gone .

Some re-coding may be required for the later unit .

I think I covered it here regarding Audio 20

Indeed , my comment was simply that the high cost of ordering numerous new parts from a dealer may be avoided if you are lucky enough to find a donor car in a breakers - with facelift cars being five to eight years old now , they are to be found with little difficulty .
