Just popped the wheel arch liner to try and have a look at the non-functioning headlamp washers on my 2001 C32 estate. The haynes manual shows one pump on the reservoir. I have 3. I presume the Haynes picture is for a saloon. without headlight washers.

I'm without an assitant so I'm not able to have someone press the was button inside, and me check for voltage at the pump. Which of the three pumps do I pull and interrogate?
Also, I tried to identify the washer pumps via the wiring in the Haynes book, but none of the colours match. Which fuse is for the headlamp washers too if anyone knows/??

All info appreciated! :thumb:

Sorry cannot help buddy. But at least this post will bump you up the forum again.

I would say one would be for the rear window ... one for the windscreen and one for the headlights ...
One silly way of testing would be.
Start unplugging one of them ... then go to the drivers position and press the washing for the rear ... if you hear the noise this is not it .
If no noise is heard then bingo this is the rear one.
Then follow the same way to see which one is for the windscreen ...
Soon you will be left with one non functioning .. which would be the lights ;-)

The supply pipe to the headlamp washers should be larger and much heavier duty than the pipes to the windscreen and rear screen. The pump itself should be much larger, too. Headlamp washers use high pressure to wash the lamp lenses as there is no wiper blade to do the work.

Headlamp washers is the one on the left indeed!
As you say, bigger hose.
Popped an airline on it, and the washers pop up ok.
Taking the pump body apart, the armature is seized. Looks like the shaft seal is gone. New pump for me!
