Can any one help driving my ml270 2003 home and I felt and heard a sound coming from the offside rear like the wheel was flat! On inspection it was fine but very worn! Drove further and the noise and feeling got so bad that I had to stop like Driving on a flat knocking and vibration I the. Stoped and started again slowly and it had gone but the. Came back as I sped up. Limped the car home a y ideas?

I'd check wheel nut torques, the tyre pressures and condition of the whole tyre including the inner sidewall. If it visually looks safe then I'd drive it slowly to a nearly garage for inspection. There they can take it off and inspect more thoroughly and check the balancing too

Yes

I had to get the rear brake shoes done 6 weeks ago. I jacked it up and turned the wheel and can hear a rubbing coming from around the calliper area?

I'd take the the wheel off to investigate closer. Sticking caliper, trapped stone are possibilities.

Are you a member of the AA or similar? If you feel your car is unsafe to drive they might come out to your home?

Not a member of anything but I'll get a lift home at lunch and take the wheel off to see if I can identify exactly where the noise is. It's doesn't feel safe to drive massive shuttering when the wheel turns best way to describe is if it's a flat wheel.

It sounds as if the brake shoes have come undone inside the drum, maybe they didnt use new springs or fit them properly.

wheel off

just took the wheel of and no sound from the brakes just a rubbing from the driveshaft but no clicking - it only clicks when you drive it??

Is the tyre round?

What's you location? As someone might be able to recommend a nearby garage, as this seems like your next course of action.

I'm in newry n Ireland! No local mb dealer near me
