NEVER, NEVER, never trust a car dealer. I say this with the greatest of respect to everyone here but what they might descibe as a mint condition car in pristine condition might perhaps not be the same flavoured mints as I am used to.I have no problem with the advice given on this thread. Your soldier analogy doesn't work as there has been many differing views. It is all much appreciated. However when I see comments like 'Dealer should be named and praised for his attitude.....' I feel I must redress the balance.
I have learnt not to trust Car Dealers from this episode and will in future have any car independently inspected (probably by my local Indy who I rate very highly). In hindsight it was naive of me to be so trusting.
When a sales person describes a car, then let the words go over your head whilst you use your eyes, ears, and nose to inspect your intended purchase.
