Help needed car DROWNING !

Hi, I have a C250 td 98,had to go out during the torrential rain tonight,turned on the demister and fan turned right and rain water ran into the passenger footwell from under the dash and alot of it and kept on running in ! anyone heard of this before ? many thanks bailing out now !

Quick update took off panel water coming from fan housing anyone konw how to take it off and where the water may be coming in from ? cheers.

The drains in the scuttle in front of the windscreen are blocked. Poke a stick or similar through them to clear them out.
