I am really suprised that a Mercedes dealer, with all their specialist tools and training will not change your CPS for you. Did they give a reason why?

I fancy they want to charge you for a STAR session where they can tell you it needs a CPS or not.

My fault code for faulty CPS was P2034-008 L5. Is that the code you have been given?

sometimes the exhaust sounds loud and sometimes quite with a lack of power

I wonder if you have intercooler pump problems and power is being cut.
You really do need a STAR session to pinpoint all your faults.

Loss of power is often linked to a failing intercooler pump on a C32, although that would explain sometimes being quiet, and sometimes loud.

I told them that I didn't mind them putting it on the machine to find the fault even though the rac had already done and found code po335, every time I ring them they put me on hold and then tell me they will ring me back, week and half later im still waiting

Code for a C32 cps is P0335! There's only one and it fits on the bell housing on the rear right of the engine bay as mentioned before! It's a pita!

That code is from a generic diagnostic reader. You need STAR.
Sounds like typical MB offhand customer service.

Edit. Apologies. As Neil says P0335 is CPS.
Mine was given as P2034 L5 (Crankshaft position sensor)(P0335)

If it's welded itself in there and they say they have to drop the gearbox out (4 hours) get them to drop it on the mounts so they can just get enough in there to tap it out! My indi managed to do it that way in half the time.......and the old part is sat on my desk at work laughing at me...... image-1565725847.jpg

im just hoping its gonna be straight forward but it probably wont knowing my luck, good pic though, cheers

Did you manage to get the cps replaced?

hi, found a garage that said they could do so I booked it in for today, they rang me 3 hours later to say they couldn't find room to put the socket on so im having to take it to a merc garage in barrow on Monday, this is turning into a nightmare, will update you Monday, thanx.:dk:

the garage in barrow are charging me £260 and they will do it while I wait, don't know how long they think it takes the engine to cool down, don't think they took that into account, and of course they have to put a merc cps in or it wont be covered under there warranty, so that's a £100 and £160 for labour, I feel ripped off but I don't know what else to do, I just wanna drive the car.
