help needed to fit cps on c32 amg

the garage in barrow are charging me £260 and they will do it while I wait, don't know how long they think it takes the engine to cool down, don't think they took that into account, and of course they have to put a merc cps in or it wont be covered under there warranty, so that's a £100 and £160 for labour, I feel ripped off but I don't know what else to do, I just wanna drive the car.

Part is the same bosch part you can get from eurocarparts for £50! I supplied my part and inc 2 hours labour to drop the box to tap it out came to about £160!!

well guys took the car to the merc garage yesterday to get the cps replaced and guess what happened, its welded in so they soaked in lube and gave me car to come home with so it can soak overnight and im now waiting for the dreaded phone call to say it didn't work and they will have to take the box off which will cost me £750:crazy::doh::dk:

Why do people get an AMG and think it's going to be cheap to maintain?

I spent mega amount of money over the years on mods and maintenance on my AMG's but that's part of owning these cars.

Never regret anything.

Because being ripped off by a main dealer for a job that doesn't have to be done by their book times is a *iss take! The box can just be dropped on the mounts to tap the CPS out, doesn't have to come right out @£750!! Plus would it cost the same on a C320.....??? AMG premium.......which again is a *iss take! Most main dealers haven't even seen a C32 let alone worked on one!

totally agree neil, its not that I don't expect theses things to happen, im just ****** coz ive only had the car 4 week, any way the garage have told me they do need to drop the box and it will be ready Thursday, they have given me a brand new car until mine is ready and knocked a couple hundred quid off and they are gonna replace the coolant at no extra cost and after all that I will be able to drive the beast, result:bannana:

picked the beast up today, all working fine and back to normal, thanx all:bannana::bannana:

It doesn't have to be expensive to maintain because it's AMG???

Main dealer at Newbridge quoted me £450 + VAT for labour to fit a crankshaft sensor which I thought was too expensive. Drove the car out of the forecourt with my wife following me home.
Replaced it an about 3 or 4 hours. wasn't too bad once I'd located it, which was the hard part.
