Help!

I have a 190E 2l auto 1989 - today in town it suddendly without warning developed a severe misfire and preceeded to die on me. I can start it, but it misfires terribly, and will again conk out after a few minutes, even if i gun the engine to keep it going it still just die's on me. Any suggestions please????.

just the norms, have you checked plugs, leads, distributor and rotor?

I was going to get that all looked at - as i only got it 5 days ago but i have a very real need to get around....i suspect the ignition?
