I was looking at getting some new number plates, and I came across these. Never heard of or seen any. They are 100% road legal. Anyone got them or seen them?image_ce576c49-f8d4-42a7-a3ad-ec0e7fd00bdf.jpg

I've seen them, every time I drive near Bradford, I see them.
All the Chavs seem to have them on their GTIs, S3s, Yaris's etc.
Honestly they look dreadful.
When you see one in the flesh, you'll thank me.
And yes, I have 3D plates, no problem with those!

Never seen them before. They're a bit naff, a bit Essex, in my opinion, but I'm an old fart who prefers the classy look...

It's "Nul Points" from the Spiky jury, but what do I know? I haven't been "happening" or "on trend" for.......................ever, really.

Edit. What the heck are "5D" plates. Presumably they are nothing to do with String Theory or a 1970's R&B group :dk:

I'm sure you can trim your own to look like that  Just ensure the angles replicate the angles of your boot or front. Happy trimming:thumb::doh:🥵

What are 4D plates, come to that?! (An old git asks.)

4d are just 3d really....the ones with the raised letters that, by fitting, prove you have absolutely no taste whatsoever! Naff as can be......most are also ordered online and therefore don't have the BS mark or supplying dealer....so are therefore illegal.. The ones in the OP are legal though. But being arrested by the taste Police is a possibility!"
The reason they don't call then 3d is because that name has been use before on plates but refers to an old style of lettering that LOOKS like 3d but isn't.....like this.....3d plates are not legal on cars registered since 2001 though...

As far as chopping the corners of....well that just increases the reading on the naffness scale IMO....... :D But is completely legal.

You could go much further with the dremel if you wanted.....like this. Looks odd but TECHNICALLY ROAD LEGAL DUE TO 13mm BORDER AROUND TEXT. Just needs to add dealer details and BS mark to be fully legal.......

Technically legal or not, those just shout "Pleeeease stop me Officer"

Youi can use it for both the plates and the individual who chose to put them on his car.

The letters on the top & bottom ones have rounded corners everywhere so arguably don't use the mandatory font. The middle one is fine.

As mentioned even slightly dubious plates can be used to pull you over for a close look at the car so not worth it IMHO.

Apart from that the looks are down to individual taste ... not a fan personally but if you like them then why not.

Horrible and Naff . There are a few on display 'round our way , one (naturally) is on a awful Audi , think two colour car (intentional) , lowered , 'chrome/titanium' windshield and wiper parked at 90'.

'Nuff said.
