Hidden or not very well documented "features" on your Mercedes ?

I did post thread about this , but I might as well put it in the right place.
If you've got "keyless" and you've locked your keys in the boot , when you try and open the drivers door the boot opens automatically .

My C class might be the same as all I've noticed is the bootlid going up when I'm stood by the drivers door .

Noticed something today for the first after six months of ownership of an S205 350e. In park or neutral, if you press the throttle, the E-Drive meter indicates even though the motor is not running

.....and if you floor the throttle in this state, it starts the ICE. Discovered that today while testing the E-Drive “feature” for myself :)

Struggling to finish volume 3,

So far I have:
-Auto opening/closing of all the Windows/Sunroof when holding down the button outside the car
-Downward pressing of the drivers door Boot opening switch closes the bootlid (if you have the closing option)
-Holding the Liqutronic button allows you to speak to Google or Siri
-Hidden AC menu on W211/W219 Quadzone climate control

I was going to include Tony's (I think thats his name, apologies, lost the email) CLK Armrest raised position thing aswell, however arent those tabs just part of the locking mech for the centre console?

In mine, if the key is in the boot, the (electric) boot will not close.
For my car, if the key is in the boot.

- Pressing the boot closure button, the boot lid will close
- Pressing the lock button, the boot lid will refuse to close

Not sure it qualifies as a feature, but after almost 2 years of ownership of the C350e, spotted last night that the illumination on the switches doesn’t change colour with the ambient lighting. Cheapskates.

I'm not sure but if you pop the bonnet in this state, that also starts the ICE. It did it once for me.

Just to add if it’s not already in this very comprehensive list.
When the clocks change you don’t have to change the time on the car clock.
It’s nice to watch the hand move forwards or backwards, just a pity more car manufacturers and household appliances don’t have this feature.
Last time I had this on a car was with Vauxhall decades ago.

Not sure how this could be a feature as stumped by it. If I open the boot on my E class estate using the door panel button, and then try to close it with the remote control it doesn’t work. Have to go and press the boot button to close it. Anyone know why?

Here's a new one on me.
If you have the fan speeds on max e.g. defrost, and press the voice button, the fans ramp down until you have finished the command, when they ramp back up again.

And another...
If you are using Waze in carplay, with the map showing on the main screen, the turn by turn directions are shown on the handset.

If you run Waze in Car Play but have the Comand Nav screen on - you get warnings of speed cameras !

How do you get the comand nav to display when you are in carplay?

Just hit the Nav button in the row in the centre console and it goes to the Comand Sat Nav. In my set up I hook up the iPhone in Car Play and select either podcasts or Tribal and then revert to the Comand Sat Nav with the media selected between the speedo and trip info in the right screen. That way I can scroll and play next track or next podcast etc. To go back to Car Play it’s the Home button and select it in the top of the screen. I haven’t tried getting to it using Linguitronic - I’ll try it tomorrow. However, my wife thinks I talk too much to the car already.
I discovered Waze making the warnings by accident - I selected Waze in Car Play, didn’t like the screen, reverted to Comand and was surprised sometime later a voice announced I was just about to enter an average speed check !

Thank you - I’ll give that a go. :thumb:
I certainly saw a Waze camera alert pop up in the carplay screen once when it wasn’t running in the foreground but no idea how that came about

Not sure whether this has been mentioned before but when I rapidly double tap the keyless go door handle on our car all the windows go down.

Some time ago I discovered that, the rear wiper activates automatically, when you select R, and your front wipers are on / auto.

I just discovered this. It also works if you press the end of the indicator stalk to flick-wipe when in R

Had my S205 350e nearly a year and noticed this for the first time today. If you have electric seats, run one all the way back. But the back upright and extend the head rest up full. Now run the seat back forward. The car winds the head rest back down to keep it clear of the roof as it slopes down to meet the windscreen as the seat moves forward. Very clever! it's doing geometry in real time to work out what the maximum head rest extension is.
