How will i know if my car has a cd changer wiring harness

Sorry but brand new to all this ive just got a c240 elegance 2003,how can i find out if the previous owner had a cd changer and if not which type would i need,(is there a specific one for merc's)ive looked in the boot but cant see anything that jumps out at me,i have a comand unit not sure which type,no tv ,no phone , Nav works ok,any info would be appreciated.

cd changer harness would be in one of the wells on the sides... you may have to remove side carpet trim to get to it..

Normally the CD Changer would be in the glove box in a W203.
I wouldnt imagine the cabling isnt there unless there was a CD changer in the car before you purchased it.


You will probably need the following:
CD Changer Model Number MC3520 or part Number A203 870 33 89
CD bracket for glove box.
You will also need power/wakeup cable
Fibre optic cable.
You might be luck and it will work.

If it doesnt work, you will have to get your dealer to code the MOST bus.

I think that covers everything you require.

Jonkaw, if you are after a cd changer for a W203, i am having mine taken out of my C55 (hate them) hopefully before 1st September, and replacing with ipod integration kit. If you are interested let me know and i will get Alfie and Richard to keep all the parts, cabling etc together.

Sorry to be so unaware and inexperienced in this field but you stated mine is a w203..whats this mean,my handbook stated the changer would be in the boot,so the glove box is used for this model??

sorry i assumed it was a W202 for some reason, a 2003 car would be a W203..
