I am addicted, it`s a problem.

All's well that ends well. But my point is that if you really liked your M3 then you could have sourced another from a 'nicer' dealer. It's wasn't the make & model you had issues with. It was the dealer. We have a Sytner MB in Carlise and they're fine.

Still, glad you got your AMG, might never have met you dude!!! :thumb:

Yeah but for me it's about the experience of owning the car too. I expect to be treated with respect and not lied to it makes me lose confidence in the brand. I'm not giving my hard earned cash to a brand that can't manage their dealership network.

I have to say I don't think MB are that great from a sales point of view.

Hence buying mine independently.

TBH given the choice I'd much rather have a 205 C63 but I confess to not knowing anything about fast cars. To me the 205 would be amazing when you consider my poor car history.

I understand the 204 C63 fans think otherwise.

Ant.

I prefer the 205 model in S form over mine but couldn't afford one right now. I did enquire as I'm so impressed with mine but the PX price on mine was frankly insulting. The dealer then tried to justify it by saying they are not an AMG specialist dealer :wallbash:

Hi ant the M156 engine is king , and the 4.0l tt is nothing to be ashamed of only doesn't sound as good .

I want to add a cavaet to the above statement I made and say I think the W204 is a lot nice looking at the back to the 205.

I'd die for a 'problem' like this.

Your car is sublime. Keep it till something takes your fancy.

Ant. :thumb:

Thanks Ant.

I say blushing ....

Steve .

Yes, agree with that. Front end looks quite good, but the side profile and especially the back of the W205 looks like a melted bar of soap.

I love the look of the W204, I think it's a really good looking car and still find myself turning around to give it an admiring glance after parking up somewhere :D

I do really like the look of the new C63 coupe though.

Yes coupe better!

One thing I detest though is fake tailpipes!

Yep ! The coupe looks the nuts !!

Don't we all?

Duncan seems to like his 205 C63.

How many are there on this forum anyway, can't be more than two yet, there are more confirmed GTs than 205 C63s.

I think problem is a 205 S with decent spec is £70-80k and a for a little bit more you can buy the big daddy.

Factor in finance and I bet the monthlies aren't much different!

I wouldn't let a snotty dealer put me off buying a car. That's like not dating a girl you really like because you're not keen on her parents. :dk: If you like the car, you just ignore the dealers attitude. :thumb: Ant.

If you're serious on buying a car then yes but if you're not then you tend to make excuses!

Personally Porsche dealers (two) have been excellent with me.

I disagree mate when you walk in intending to buy a car I would expect to be treated as such. I was buying a low end Macan at the time. Ended up with an SQ5 purely down to the way the dealer acted at Solihull Porsche.

However have to say Sutton Coldfield are far better.

I find the dealers tend to pre judge you on your attire ;)

My neighbour went in about a 997 too and they basically blanked him so he bought an M6 instead.

Specialist Dealers are far better to deal with than Main Brand dealers . Unless you want brand new , but then ... Why would you do that ....

It's interesting that because BMW I love new as you can get it just right and spec individual stuff easily.

MB just depreciate horrendously and the Designo options are verging on ludicrous.

2nd hand is king now.

For me Stuart , its about being able to get a high spec car , under warranty , for a lot less cash . I would never have bought a new 507 ....

I think the great thing about the 507 is the car will always be worth good money. Great buy really!

never been a fan of porsches but got a ride in the new cayman gts and my word its a totally different beast to the c63, absolute weapon of a car specially on b road and twisty's. noise isnt the same as the big v8 but it feels so much more engaging and the noise in the cabin was surreal. The PDK gearbox is a thing of beauty! however, i still love the 63! albeit i dont have the same confidence cornering at fast speeds as it feels like its a big yacht! amg soundtrack all day tho

Cayman is a sublime bit of automotive engineering!

Pointless comparing a 1700kg four door family saloon to a Gts.
