technically its a Brabus dealer. Its at medway autos. They have a website. Lots of nice cars there at the mo. I sat in this cobra replica. Sooooo small its ridiculous. Sounds amazing when fired up tho.

Off Topic - report back please!!! I'm considering this route also - would be v v interested!
Cheers

On Topic - Grav, just do it, you only live once!!! burble burble roar

Vastly overpriced for a Dax. You can get the real thing for a bit more. There's a relatively cheap version that AC were making (don't know if they still are) which was about £38k with a carbon fibre body - called the AC Cobra Mk IV CRS (carbon road series). I remember they were selling a few down at Costco a few years ago. It's only got a 5 litre V8 and only about 250bhp but it's very light so it's quick. Properly built too. A kit car is a lottery and the insurance will be crippling. I once went down to the Dax "factory" at Harlow and it looked pretty amateurish to me.

DAX
A few cheaper ones on here, but not with that low mileage on and I need to finance a vast amount of it.
Maybe he'll come down a bit

As was said, if you can't find the real mcoy then Dax is the bussiness. Yes i prefer gurgle gurgle roar roar. Great colour as you can tell i quite like the Cobra, the quetion is though do we get enough good weather, who cares buy it, buy it, buy it.

Gt40??

Dax certainly have a good name. Would have been happier if the car came with a ford 427 as per the original even if it is a replica. If you want an old fast ford replica I personally would go for a GT40 kit. At least you can drive it when it rains. Nice car tho :)

There are a few on ebay - also some genuine Autokraft cars which are real works of art.

I also am going down this weekend to test the c32!

Looks like a nice one too.

You should go with Grav888 - maybe they'll do a deal if you both buy a car!! No racing in the new cars on the way home though guys!! ;)

My girlfriends father has a Dax Rush with a 3.5l V8. Fantastic car - one of the better kit manufacturers and actually of better quality than a Caterham.

That is one lovely car man,
but people i know that have had them say
they cant drive it alot as they are not an everyday car,
but saying that i know i'd love to have one.
Not very helpful i know, but im battling myself here

ooooooh - it is sexy

but where would you put all that stuff you lug around in the E55  :p

Once upon a time I worked for a well known S. Kensington classic car dealer & got to drive ALL kinds of rare & exotic things, from an 8 litre WO Bentley (pig of a car in London) to Ferrari Super America (ok) to Lancia Statos (loved it), to a W198 300SL GW (too hot in the summer) & many more.

The ONLY one of the dozens of cars I drove that scared me so much I couldn't put the gas pedal all the way down (going through Hyde Park) was a (real) 427 Cobra. It was terrifying about 3/4 depressed. It was an absolutely brutal car. You could feel the whole car trying to twist under acceleration. Not a car for the daily commute.

Chap who runs my local used to race a couple of his Cobras competitively until last year - he now campaigns a couple of very handy TRs (along with many other cars). His Cobras are up for sale - one is £175k and the other is more.
Too rich for me.......

If you do get it, which I hope, get your personal insurance updated before the purchase as the original Cobras were names "The Widow Maker". May just pursuade the Mrs to let you have it

An ex colleague has all things good to say about Gardner Douglas.

The guy I knew had a monsterous Cobra - something like a 5.7 V8 with a blower that ran from idle - sounded like ajet, smelt like a jet and went extremelly rapidly.

£30K would see you something from there I would think.
