Hi All,

99 CLK320 cab.. I opened the roof part way to see if I could find the gps wire to pull through to the new HU. I have stopped it half way before and no issues. This time the hard cover that comes down came down and the roof (under it's own weight) slowly dropped. I thought all was well so pushed it gently back down and it clipped half way in to the lug. Now I can't do anything. I can't pull it up cos it's half clicked in place and the electrics won't work. The light just flashes at me...!!

Can I do anything to get it down properly or back up..?

No such thing as a five minute job eh..!!

Thanks

i think you have confussed the cars roof controller,
with the keys out of the car:
try putting the roof back to the position (manually) before the rear bit started to fall down. now put the ignition on so you can raise / lower the roof - hopefully this will work - PM me if your having probs

Hi Unit504,

How's it going..? Did you get the wind deflector to fit..?

I solved the problem just 10 minutes ago. The issue was I could not open the roof by hand or close it by hand. It was nearly closed but only clicked into the forst notch on the boot catch. A quick read of the manual and I worked out how to unlock it and pull it up manually. Next issue was the boot cover as this was also only partially locked down. Again, following the manual I managed to get it locked down. Then the soft top locked down and gave it a try.

Hey presto... Back in action

Thanks mate
