I think I saw a scrap 560

It definitely looks like it's seen a lot more action than 36k miles would suggest. Personally I'd just use it as a parts bin - I don't even like the interiors on the early Gen 2 cars - much preferred when the leather went from the narrow vertical stripes to the wider horizontal & the door cards became straked.
Can't see from your photos if it still has its headlights - original Euro spec bosch lights can always be sold on as can the euro spec wipers.

Having just looked at Pentomans Road test report, the prices are quite amusing - some look so cheap, but then I saw the price of a typical tyre back in 1987 & it says £180 !!! Nowadays you'd pay under half that for a premium brand 215/65 15 inch.

How much is this car to purchase in its current form. i.e scrap?
If cheap enough buy it for spares as suugested.

I just yesterday was offered an early 300SE ( X plate ) with approx 200K miles , leather , rusty wings but new MOT for £200 without tax or £300 with remaining 6 monts or so tax left on it . The car has been owned for the last 6 months by an officer at work who has just replaced it with a W124 E280 ; I also know the previous owner and knew the car in his ownership for the previous 3 years or so ( but I think he had it longer ) I think he bought it used from Alan Day as a low mileage 1 owner car and only changed it for a newer model due to the rust issues ( front wings , rear wheelarches - usual places ) . I declined as I don't have space for another car ( already got 4 ) but I think one of my mates is going to go for it as I know the car is a good runner despite being rough round the edges . Besides that SWMBO would kill me if I brought another car into the household , the residence would start to look like either Mafia HQ or a funeral company with 2x 199 Black W126's and a 040 Black W111 lying outside !

The relevance to the previous post is that if you can buy a car with MOT for £200 , a scrap one can be worth no more - even a 560 !

I just a couple of weeks ago paid slightly less than £150 for two Conti Premium Contact 2 205/65 VR15 for my 500 .
