They get away with it in the same way crooks get away with whatever it is that they do.
I doubt they will get around copyright with slight misspellings, etc, I imagine those are just stupid errors (not very bright).
It isn't just wheels, try googling for your watch of choice and see all the fakes that pop up, none of which try to misspell makers names. They try to make them as realistic as they can so they can charge as much as they can.
Edit: Sorry, I was in full rant and just realised you were referring to the fakes on sale in eBay. Well, quite frankly, my impression is eBay couldn't give a monkeys. What difference does it make to them as long as they turn a profit and show lip service to intellectual property laws. I'd say most things on eBay that purport to be Gucci, Prada, Stone Island, U-Boat, etc, are dodgy fakes. Buy one and you'll need to prove it's fake then cough up to return it recorded delivery for a "full" (read part) refund.
