Passed my driving test today! so now I can get into a REAL car, fiat 500's that BSM use are rubbish! my instructor wouldnt sit in on test because he doesnt think the rear seats are a safe place to sit! lol

anyways, anyone got some suggestions for insurance companies? my merc is an '88 300D saloon no mods, just a genuine safe thing to waft around in, no fancy frills to go wrong.

just shop around fella i had my first mercedes at 18 my first car was a 1980 vw polo at £900 a year to insure and my 190E 2.0 was £380 a year later so shop around and im sure you will get a good price :thumb:

best quote soo far is just over £1600 and thats if i wait till after my 21st bday (xmas eve is only a few weeks away and it makes it 500 quid cheaper) being a young male just passed his test looking at around 10k miles per year means huge premiums :(

and yet my bike which has a 0-60 of about 4.5 seconds has a premium of 226 quid for a 16K miles a year policy (i live in the middle of nowhere, everywhere is a journey for me) :wallbash: not impressed

You could try not having insurance, it's only a 200 quid fine and that's if they manage to convict you after you hire a sleazy lawyer that can find sufficient loopholes in your arrest/the law.

no insurance = 6 points, as i have had my licence less than two years i would lose my licence, possibly for my bike aswell..... as again not had licence 2 years... not worth risking it, although im near 21 i look about 16 so every bloody copper i pass in daylight is going to pull me over probably.

adrian flux over 3k
swinton 2.6 tho got it down to 2.3k with haggling still waaaaaaay over the odds!
