R230 SL500 in teal blue, R231 SL500 in black. (Vauxhall insignia diesel now sold) Black Ford Mondeo
Renewal through today, two cars with no changes except everything a year older, my SL had gone up from £238 to £322 and a 10 year old 1.0 Micra had gone up from £105 to £178 a 60% increase! Phoned to ask why and was basically told take it or leave it.

Any wonder some drivers, (mainly the younger ones with huge premiums) are willing to risk driving with no insurance?
An APNR will get them eventually, probably sooner than later, but I can see why they take that chance.
It can't be any coincidence that some insurers now pay out in the even of being hit by an uninsured driver.
Apologies as its not Mercedes related, but had to post this. Never seen anything like it. Enjoy:oops:

Adrian Flux, his broker, have invited him to renew later this month for the sum of £2600. Last September it was £600.
So not only is he being penalised for a no fault collision, his van is written off, he has been offered £300 less than he paid for it, although he is still being asked to pay £400 excess. As is natural when your down on your luck, to buy a similar van right now would find him having to pay over £2k more than the pay out.
Apart from politicians, the insurance industry must be one of the most morally corrupt institutions in the UK.
Quick to take your money, slow to pay out on claims, low ball offers below the value of the claim.
That's probably because the other claim has not been settled yet........They will be pricing that with no NCB.....a common problem when the renewal comes with the claim still in process. I had the same when a lady destroyed my bike. ....a huge renewal. But as soon as the claim was settled and, more importantly, blame decided I got my money back and my NCB reinstated.

If they paid a refund your lucky afew years back i contacted my insurance of a possible claim as someone reversed into me on a test drive and my insurance went up but there was never a claim ,it never went back down until the renewal
They phoned me to say the case was settled (she pulled out in front of me and was done for dangerous driving so there was never much doubt!!!).....it was Swinton Insurance......I would have chased them if they hadn't though.
2010 Mercedes W212 E Class E350 CDI Sport, 2006 Mercedes W169 A Class A170.
I'm sure you could fine someone with a bad tale on every insurance company you could think of. They were always very competitive price wise on my bikes....but rubbish on cars!!
Hi , well I have tried to obtain a quote from A Plan ( they have changed there name ).
Travel Insurance : Given a phone number in Surrey to call. Continually engaged
Property Insurance : Given a phone number in Northampton and still waiting for return call.
Car Insurance : Telephoned local branch yesterday , spoke to a person , not his department but will ask the manager to call me back. No suprise that I am still waiting for the call.

I have only ever spoken to someone from A-plan once and that was this afternoon and the person I spoke to was excellent and the premium was great too.
The price was very reasonable so I’ll get quotes for them some other cars which are on a multi car policy to see if it’s a one-off on the car they’ve insured today.
