Don't know if I'm going mad or just being stupid. I am trying to hard wire a dash cam into the front dome/rear view mirror assembly. I have managed to lower the dome cluster down and identify the 2 correct wires and was ready to connect the dash cam. I then tried to find the fuse to remove power from the wiring. The fuse list in the car says the Interior lights, rear view mirror and makeup mirror are all on fuse 17. I removed fuse 17 but all the above lights still work. I have tried a few other fuses that I thought might be similar but still I can shut off the power to the rear view mirror/dome lights.

Does anyone know the correct fuse for the rear view mirror/dome light on a 2012 C Class W204. The fuse list for the car appears to be wrong.

Cheers Marc

Sorry no direct help, but do you have German language fuse chart too? I knew W210 English chart is wrong (proved myself), but also W204????

Dash Cam permanent supply

Hi mersum1es, thanks for the reply. The fuse chart I have is an A3 piece of paper with 3 lists, one in German, one in English and one in French. Fuse 17 doesn't not control what it says on the fuse chart.

However I have just realised that the dome light is not a permanent live supply after reading some other threads. Even though it appears to be live without the key in the ignition or engine on, if you leave the interior lights on and lock the car the automatically turn themselves off after a few seconds. Good idea to stop you draining the battery but not for me wanting to wire my dash cam up permanently.

I will work fine while I am driving but I want to use the parking guard function while the car is parked and locked to record any cars bumping into it.

So now I need to find a permanent live feed somewhere to tap into? Any ideas?

Fusebox at end of dashboard if you have it. In a W204 there are a bunch of supplies that look permanent but turn off a few minutes after the car is locked.

Dash cam

Hi Richard, thanks for the reply. I don't have the fuse board at the end of the dashboard, I don't think they fit them there anymore in C-Classes. I've decided to route the cable to the rear fuse box in the boot and try and find a permanent supply there.
