Hi helpful people,

I've been having intermittent problems on my car for a while now, starting with the CD interchanger unit blowing, resulting in the main head unit (command) stopping working we checked the fuses at the time and everything seemed fine, so we took the car to Alfie who kindly bypassed the fibre optic loom and took off the interchanger. This sorted out the head unit and it all seemed to go back to normal, the command fired back up and the problem seemed to be rectified.

Since then, we have had a string of things electrically going wrong. All things have come back - for example, the first thing we noticed was the automatic "up" on the driver side window wasn't working for a while, this rectified itself within a few days. Then the key started to play up - a few times it wouldn't open or close the car - I had to press it multiple times before it would lock or unlock, I assumed this was a battery problem in the key itself but again, after a few days it seemed to sort itself out.
The next thing to play up was the left indicator light on the wing mirror, this time it gave me an error on the dash, but again, within a few days all seemed fine and it started working again.

Today I noticed suddenly the cruise control wouldn't work, and when I attempted to put it on to the limiter, it would come up with a light on the stick to say the limiter was on, but when I tried to put the cruise control on, it came up with an error, saying please take to a dealer.

Can anyone suggest what this might be?

They are probably unrelated. The window just needed a re-set I suspect. They key issue will be either the IR receiver, radio receiver, rear SAM or a dodgy key. Use the spare for now and see how you get on. Replace the key batteries too to be sure.

The mirror repeater could be broken wires or a poor connection on the mirror cover. It will probably fault again.

It needs to be plugged in for the CC fault.

Oh poo :( I don't want them all to be unrelated  lol
OK will get it to my Indy to check on the star machine...poxy car, has cost me a fortune lately :wallbash:

any ideas why an indicator Left, front keeps faulting? is it usual on a W203?
bulbs changed, swpped the unit from the right to the left,, could it be inside the light fitting itself Olly? cheers

Its a very common problem on the 203 for the contacts to burn out.

Mercedes do a modified bulb holder which has its own wiring attached which needs to be plugged into the existing wiring

Of the top of my head they are around £25 for the new holder
