I'm on my 10-th car charger for duration of 6 months.3 USAMS,3 Griffins, and 4 other brands all failed. Some of them after few Hours of use, other lasted few weeks..

Buy from apple in future and keep the receipt.

Maybe someone can explain why the cables cease to work, I have never understood that.

Since my latest update on my phones and I pad I'm noticing that none genuine apple products , including the music docking stations are saying " this accessories is not supported " or words to that effect !!!! Wondering if apple somehow have been apple to put a hardware spy or something in the latest update to stop us using non Apple products !!!

I was told by Apple in the US that one of the recent software updates changed the accepted input ampage to the devices so non genuine chargers and cables don't work as the Amps output is now too low not sure if this is true or BS but that's what they said

That would explain why some of my units won't work now I recon

I saw that message a few years back on a 3G or 3GS when plugged into a JBL desktop speaker/charging dock .

Generally , any of the usb chargers I use in the car - branded ones like Belkin Tunecast or Griffin iTrip , unbranded ones from Tesco , Aldi or Lidl all have been fine .

I've still to get a Bury take & talk cradle for my iPhone 5 to fit the handsfree system in the 190 , but the 4S one I have works fine .

Since many of the branded accessories are approved and sold by Apple , I'd be surprised if they didn't work - anyway , the manufacturers will soon catch up and work around it .
