hi all,
was just after some help regarding my iPod connection in my car.
i have a manufacture fitted iPod dock in my car and bought an adapter to plug my iphone 5 to it but i keep getting a message saying "this device is not supported" and when i plug my missus phone to it nothing happens. the phone doesn't do a thing??

also my brothers iPhone 4s gives the same message as my 5 and his is without the adapter.
the only thing it actually recognizes is an actual iPod.

has anyone managed to get theirs working?

What year is the car and whats the first six characters of the chassis/VIN number?

It's a 2005 c220 cdi sport edition

I'll let you know the chassis number when I go to the car

Make sure the iphone is at the latest S/W level.

Ignore the message on the screen when you plug it in.
select AUX on the head unit and see if it plays. It probably will. You can control it from the audio menu in the instrument cluster.

And make sure its a genuine Apple converter you are using. Seen a few dodgy ones that just don't work properly when being used for data transfer (data to the iPod kit for track names & authentication etc in this case), although they work for charging and basic audio dock function that is not enough to make them work with Media Interface or iPod kit.

Saying that, my iPhone 5 with the genuine Apple adapter/converter lead doesn't work in my car, whereas my wife's identical iPhone 5 does :-(

I don't have aux on my head unit. I have a cdc button which if I hold down then it changes to aux on the display

To get an ipod/iphone to play with the factory kit you need to plug the device into the Apple 30 pin connection in the glovebox then select AUX on the head unit by pressing (in your W203) the CDC button as you have found.
