hi.. newbie question..

Ive managed to get my iphone cradle working on my clk 2007 and now i want to 1) get the music from the iphone through the stock set up or 2) Connect a ipod set up.

My question is.. what do i need.? (My cradle has a lead coming out the side for some kind of connection.)

Hi
You need

(a) The iPod kit for A/B/C/CLK (etc)
Comand Online Ltd :: iPod Kits :: C (W203), CLC & CLK class :: Mercedes iPod kit for A, B, C, CLK, ML, GL, R Class with COMAND or Audio-20-CD
(b) The interconnecting lead between that and the iPhone cradle
Comand Online Ltd :: iPod Kits :: C (W203), CLC & CLK class :: Mercedes iPhone Cradle -> iPod Kit lead
- This is a pig to install and involves cutting, so you may prefer to go with a separate iPod in the glovebox.

If going with seperate iPod, buy an old iPod with a big hard disk and leave it in there (because the newer iPods wont charge unless you add this lead)

Comand Online Ltd :: iPod Kits :: C (W203), CLC & CLK class :: Mercedes New iPod charging lead for A/B/C/CLK/GL/ML/R/CL/S/E/CLS/SLK

There's instructions for installing the iPod kit in a CLK on my website - Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits

On the subject of the iPod in the glove box connection, is the iPod powered all the time or only while the ignition is on. I am guessing it's the later but just wanted to know.

Only when ignition on.

Which of course means you have to turn the ignition on to listen to the iPod, which is not true of listening to other sources.
