The classic didn't have air-con as standard, but the classic SE did.
As regards keeping your car, I think I'd be inclined to. It sounds like a typical batch of A-class faults which on the whole aren't too horrific to repair. I'd say if it's done those miles without any major faults, then it's a good one. I'd get the important bits sorted, run it for a bit longer, and see if it's going to behave. If it doesn't, pop it on ebay. As regards tidying it up, a full valet can be had for £30 in many places. It won't be perfect but it'll look tidy and shiny, which is all that most people who would consider buying it will want.
