I took mrs and kids to classic car show at the n.e.c ( i really enjoyed it) but unfortunately the mrs did not.... a car is a car as far as she is concerned.. anyway i wear the trousers??????. My question is has any one been to the mercedes benz world, im thinking of having another surprise weekend away.. is this place any good?? Or will i once again be in the doghouse??

M-B World at Brooklands?

It's a decent enough place and free to get in, but not sure I'd have a weekend away just to go there. Mind you there's the Brooklands museum on the same site, you could make a day of it if you went to both.

We periodically have club GTGs at MB World, btw. I typically take my son and Mrs BTB does something else!

take a trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum if you're down at that end of the country.

If you like cars it's a good day out rather than weekend away but from what you say it would be dog house again:)

I'd just go on my own.

Now theres a place that is family friendly, but on saying that I go there more times with me and the kids,as my interest in anything car related seems to
bother SWMBO.:confused::D

I think the surprise part of your weekend if you go to Brooklands would be your wife leaving you!

If she found the Classic Car show boring (which I can quite understand), Brooklands is hardly going to put a spring in her step either.

Why not do something she likes to do?

a car is a car as far as she is concerned.

Leave her and then hire a hit man after insuring her heavily before she brainwashes the kids too!!!!!

Once upon a time, i thought it was always best to do things together as a family. But as I have grown older, i have come to realise that it is sometimes best to do things by yourself. ;)

Save your "Bloke + car days" until needed. She won't enjoy them, so what's the point?

Endure the shopping trips with good grace and escape when you get the chance. Smiling in Primark may be difficult ("yes dear, I'd rather be pushing wasps up my bottom") but is good for boyscout points.

Once upon a time I had a nagging other half. I thought I am not having this. Now I am a single dad who lives with my 8yr old petrol head daughter:rock:. We do what we please. We lived happily ever after. The End.

Indeed... im dropping her at a relatives house where she can go shopping with his mrs and kids and me and him will go to mb world then onto a good boozer...... result!!!!.

MB World is basically a large car showroom with stuff to do.. So if you are planning on a ride around the track and maybe a 4x4 experience, its a half day thing all in...

MB World is definitely worth a visit.
