Hey guys! My first post on here after spending a few days searching and reading your excellent forum.

I bought my 1st Mercedes a week ago, E240 Elegance, and I'm loving it!
Its not my usual type of car but I wanted something comfortable and respectable to go and see clients in and a Mondeo or Vectra just weren't good enough :D

I've spent the last 10 years driving Imprezas, Evos and Skylines and wish I'd gone to a Mercedes 5 yrs ago.
Obviously there is a big performance difference but the Merc doesn't beg to be thrashed around like the others do so I find myself just wafting along and not having to race every car I come across! It makes for a much more relaxing drive, I think I'm getting old.....

I envisage keeping this car for a few months and then moving onto an E class with a (much) bigger engine like the E500 or E55, depending how business/the economy is doing.

Good man !!

Welcome onboard ! :bannana:

Thanks Howard, looking forward to spending time on here :D

I give you two months with the 240 before you buy a 55 , prices are so low now ! ;)

Welcome from me too! Whereabouts 'oop North? If NW maybe see you at one of our GTG's

Welcome aboard! And i know what you mean! when i drive jap cars (usually my friend's supra's or highly modded 200sx's) i feel like a hooligan in them... in the merc i'm slightly more mature... (not always though)

welcome to the mad house you will find lots of info and lots of fun on here so enjoy:bannana: some pics would be good too;)

Welcome.

I think any automatic you tend to cruise along with them to be fair.

Even the E55's can be cruisers you don't have to fly everywhere :)

Yorkshire, but I've travelled the entire country for Subaru/Skyline meets so the NW wouldn't be a problem!

That was the problem, pulling up to see a client in a hooligan car and hoping to be taken seriously.... :D

At least with the E55 you have that option even if you choose not to exercise it.
